President & CEO, Director Marc Melnic, P.Eng., MBA
Mr. Melnic has over 25 years of experience leading multi-disciplinary teams within the oil and gas industry. Previously, he held executive and senior management roles with Caribe, Blackhawk, Ranger, Vero, Enerplus, Wascana and PanCanadian. He has led projects in conventional and unconventional E&P, CO2 Sequestration, Stranded Gas Power Generation, Natural Gas Storage, Polymer Flooding, Slant Drilling & Completions and Propane Vapor Extraction. Mr. Melnic has presented case studies at Society of Petroleum Engineers conferences internationally. Most recently, he has focused on sourcing and developing unconventional resources in North America, South America, Africa, Australia and Europe. As an A&D and finance specialist, he has proven successful at finding, negotiating, closing and marketing deals valued at over $1 Billion since 2000. Mr. Melnic has a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Manitoba with an MBA from Queen’s University and is a Registered Professional Engineer. Mr. Melnic is fluent in French and resides in Calgary, Canada.
Vice President, Business Development Yuri Zaichuck, LL.M., MBA
Mr. Zaichuck is a business development specialist who was actively involved in E&P projects both on-shore and off-shore since 2005. He worked in Western Canada, USA, Germany, Switzerland and Ukraine and a recent assignment was an E&P Advisor to the CEO of JSC “Chernomorneftegas”, the only operator of the 5th generation jack-up drilling rigs within the Crimean shelf and VP/Technology for Terra Energy & Resource Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of state of the art exploration technologies worldwide (from South America and the Middle East). Mr. Zaichuck has an LL.M. from the University of Connecticut School of Law and MBA from Schulich School of Business at York University.
Vice President, Geoscience Bill McDougall, M.Sc., P.Geol., P.Geo.
Mr. McDougall is a professional geologist with over 30 years of industry experience. He is the President of a geological consultancy focused on M&A, exploration and development with specialty knowledge in unconventional resources including shale gas and coalbed methane. He has worked for numerous E&P companies such as Apache, BHP, EOG, Burlington, Enerplus, Nexen, Suncor, Talisman and European Gas. Most recently, he has worked on projects in Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, France, Italy, Uruguay and the USA. Mr. McDougall has a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Geology from the University of Regina and resides in Calgary, Canada.
Vice President, Engineering Jamie Carlson, P.Eng.
Mr. Carlson is a professional engineer with over 20 years of industry experience in senior management covering all aspects of engineering & operations including conventional oil & gas, unconventional resources, enhanced oil recovery, thermal oil sands (SAGD), heavy oil and sour oil & gas operations. He has held senior roles with OSUM Oil Sands, Baytex, Dominion, Enerplus, PetroVera, PanCanadian and Renaissance. Mr. Carlson has extensive experience in managing large infrastructure projects exceeding $1 billion. Mr. Carlson has a B.Sc. in Petroleum Engineering from North Dakota State University and resides in Calgary, Canada.
Chief Financial Officer Lori Bobye, CMA
Ms. Bobye is a Certified Management Accountant with 20 years of industry experience in assisting public companies with all aspects of financial services. Ms. Bobye’s roles have included CFO of Stealth Ventures, Controller at Skope Energy and Peyto Exploration and numerous senior roles at companies such as Devon, Central Alberta Midstream, Engage Energy, Avid Oil and Gas, Husky Energy, Rio Alto and Norcen Energy.
Vice President, Exploration James Podruski, M.Sc., P.Geol.
Mr. Podruski is a professional geologist with over 30 years of industry experience in North America, South & Central America and the Asia Pacific region. Mr. Podruski was the founder and CEO of Alturas Resources Ltd., a Canadian oil & gas exploration company focused in Western Canada and Cuba. Mr. Podruski has published numerous papers as an internationally renown expert on tectonics and structural geology. He has also been an advisor to numerous companies and governments including the Geological Survey of Canada and the Geological Survey of Papua New Guinea. Mr. Podruski has a B.Sc. in geology from the University of Manitoba and an M.Sc. from the University of Southern California. Mr. Podruski is fluent in Spanish and resides in Merida, Mexico.
Manager, Unconventional Resources David Marchioni, Ph.D., MBA, P.Geol.
Dr. Marchioni is a professional geologist with over 25 years of industry experience in North, South & Central America, Australia, Europe and Asia. He is the Founder and CEO of Petro-Logic Services, one of the first Calgary-based geological laboratory focused on unconventional resource analysis and testing, undertaking geological appraisals and desorption services for companies such as BP, BG, EnCana, Enerplus, EOG, Talisman, Vico and ExxonMobil. He was also a Founder and VP Exploration for Pacific Asia China Energy, which was subsequently sold to a Chinese State-owned enterprise. Dr. Marchioni has a Ph.D. in geology from the University of Newcastle, Australia and an MBA from the University of Calgary. Dr. Marchioni has dual citizenship in Australia and Canada and resides in Calgary, Canada.
